I first met Fred professionally some 40 years ago in England and we later became friends. As we lived far apart for most of the time I did not see Fred that often. However we did keep in touch by phone. He once called me mid evening UK time. I was out and he was told that I was at the pub. After that when he called me it was after 11.15 in the evening and he asked me if I had enjoyed my "pint". I would call him earlier in the evening so that he knew I was not always at the pub. Conversations lasted at least 1 hour. Topics included football(soccer), Burnley (if they were doing well), cricket and our travels around the world. I will miss these talks. Chris, Jenny and I are coming out to LA as planned and would like to meet up with you and pay our repects to Fred. Taj.
