His Greatest Accomplishment

Created by Fred's Wife Christine and Their Children 14 years ago
Though Fred was considered by many to be a leader and pioneer in his field, he often said his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was remarkably proud of his children – Mark, Robert and Heather – and equally fond of his seven grandchildren. He and his wife had just celebrated 47 years of marriage. Throughout his life he put his family before his career. It was not uncommon for him to slip out of the office to attend a middle school soccer match and, in fact, once flew home from Southeast Asia just in time for a school band concert. In his later years, he took great joy in watching his grandchildren play soccer and perform in school plays. Wherever he went - the coffee shop, the doctor’s office or the convenience store - he always spoke of the great pride and appreciation he had for his family.
